Warm-up (Mike, you’re the man, get ‘em loose)
For time, in teams of two:
40 Thrusters (95/65)
40 SDHP (95/65)
40 Push-press (95/65)
40 OHS (95/65)
40 Front Squat (95/65)
5 burpees every minute on the minute including at the start.
Here’s how it works, partner one will start the WOD with the five burpees, then partner two will pick up the bar and do as much of the prescribed workout as possible in the remainder of the minute. When the minute turns over, partner two (the one who was just on the bar) will do the five burpees before partner one gets on the bar and continues where partner two left off. In short, each time you touch the bar, you will work through that minute and be responsible for the five burpees as the next minute turns over. Your partner cannot begin his or her reps on the barbell until all five burpees have been completed. You are allowed to rest through an entire minute, or multiple minutes – if it comes to that – just so long as each time a new minute begins, you get your burpees in. It does not matter if workloads end up being distributed unevenly due to strengths and weaknesses, just get the thing done.
Happy, happy new year everybody. Thanks so much for being a part of this family. I mean it, I’m humbled and honored that I’ve been blessed with this job. Things don’t always run perfectly and it gets rough in there every so often, but all in all, I consider myself among the most fortunate people I know because of your investments day in and day out and what it enables me to do with my life. We’ve made great strides this past year and much of it is due to our fantastic community involvement and the passion you all bring the the gym each day. Without those things, it’s little more than a cold warehouse and a lot of equipment. Here’s to a great 2011!
