Worth getting up early for. I love The Bear.

  2. Steve M. Aug 25, 2011 / 8am

    Just a great workout. 65 – 85 – 95 – 95 – 95.

I think my ideal workout would be a light Bear with 400m runs in between. You can all punch me now.

Bear up to 80 (my last recorded was 58)

Last push press was up, overhead, but not held at full extension before finishing. I will not get so excited next time, and make sure I have good form right to the last moment.

Way to go Ian! you’re my hero…

I totally agree with Steve on the new bear/run workout!

  4. Jon Aug 25, 2011 / 8am

Up to 125 this morning. Ian is an inspiration for us all.

Mike, on the 6:30 am group: “What a weird class.” Good to see you too Mike!

To the later classes: I highly recommend combining the power clean / front squat / push press into a clean / thruster combo. Much more efficient.

    @Steve – You’re a truly sick individual
    @Katrina/Jon – Thanks ya’ll

I like it when CFSP becomes the Eagle for a day because of all the Bears.

Thanks for Katrina and Tina for distracting me so I didn’t think about what I was about to attempt.

    95-115-135-150*-155 [Prior max 135]
*Bar slipped off my back on the landing after 7th front push press. Grrrr

There was a lot of adrenaline at the time but my neck, back, and shoulders are SORE now. Tomorrow could be rough.

    Who’s gonna get 160 today???? Do I hear 165?
Markese? Gauger? Ryan? Logan? Matt? Brock? Jake?

  6. Mike J Aug 25, 2011 / 10am

Jon my exact words were “eclectic” which I stand by.

It just don’t come no better than a Bear.

Argh, I HATE missing the bear! Stupid California! >:(

  9. RYAN P Aug 25, 2011 / 2pm

This was a tougher workout than I thought it would be.

    Set two PR’s today:

    Bear complex: 105
Number of times whacking myself in the head with the bar while completing the Bear complex: 2

Thanks Jake and the 5:30 crew for the encouragement!

  12. Chris Bock Aug 25, 2011 / 7pm

I just met the bear and we are already friends. 65-75-85-95-105.

  13. Mike Aug 25, 2011 / 7pm

    Modified the bear due to a shoulder thing – power clean/clean/hpc/front squat x 3 – 135-155-165f

  14. Jackie K Aug 25, 2011 / 8pm

Conquered the bear with Quinn! Who is stronger than Tyler’s brother. :)

    53, 63, 73, 83, 88for two…then finish with 83.

this was a 50 pound PR from my last Bear at 33 pds…in September 2010.

  15. Jill Aug 25, 2011 / 9pm

Bear was harder than expected when reading previous posters enthusiasm, but harder in a good way.

    53-63-68-68-63

My partner, Andrew, got more than he paid for when I had a wardrobe malfunction during 2 of the sets. Note to self: next time Bear is up, wear pants with a drawstring.

Nice PR Jackie. Strong, very strong indeed! I would have been more impressed if you had completed this dressed as a teacher.

  16. Quinn Aug 25, 2011 / 9pm

First time doing the bear for load.. I think I like it much better than when we did it for time… 53-63-73-83-95 (yes, I put on the 1 lb plates to make it a nice round number!)
Fun times as usual with Jackattack.

  17. Mary K Aug 25, 2011 / 9pm

Love the Bear. Hit a new PR today with #88. Felt good, but needed the encouragement of Mel to get me through.
