Tuesday – 052212 – Power Cleans, Burpees

May 21st, 2012 by tkquinn

Tara's ripped...

16 Rounds, each for maximum repetitions, alternating between movements, with 90 seconds rest between rounds:

30 Seconds – Power Cleans (135/93)
30 Seconds – Burpees

The workout is less confusing than it seems. 3… 2… 1… Go! Pick up the barbell and do as many power cleans as you possibly can in 30 seconds. That’s one round. Upon completing that first 30 second round, athletes will rest precisely 90 seconds (the clock will run to 2 minutes) at which point round two (another 30 second interval) will begin. In round two you athletes will complete as many burpees as possible in 30 seconds before, yet again, reseting precisely 90 seconds. Round three will be power cleans again, with burpees following up in round four. In the end, athletes will have completed exactly 8 30-second intervals of power cleans, and 8 30-second intervals of burpees.

The score will be your total reps of both burpees and power cleans combined. This way, counting is easy.

    WoD: 208 Rx
I was able to get 11 power cleans and 15 burpees per round throughout. Probably could’ve squeezed in one or two cleans and burpees in the first two or three rounds, but by the end my wrists were throbbing and I was struggling to hang onto the bar for dear life. For the burpees, set a confortable number for yourself and try and hit that every time rather than being concerned with the clock. You’ll obviously get fatigued, but for me it seemed a little easier to maintain consistency. Have fun with this one. Great job today 630am crew.

Heeeey, just a note to anyone who did the TM this weekend, my teammate just emailed me to say she got put on antibiotics for a bacterial infection her dr thinks she got from the mud/etc. (basically she started with a few little bumps on her leg, but it spread to a rash up her chest and down her other leg.)

WOD: 205 Rx, about 10-11 PC each time and 15 burpees.

I love these sprint and rest style WODs! Please program more Tyler.

178 rx. Really fun WOD. 30 seconds on, 90 seconds rest is way better than tabata.

159, not rx. I liked this one. Burpees were a little slow after my injury, but it felt good to be back. Great photo Tara!
