* The first time the athlete puts the bar down/takes their hands off of the bar (during deadlfits)/rests the bar on the ground for any longer than it takes to kick a deadlift off the floor into the next rep, the athlete will complete 5 burpees. On the second time the athlete puts the bar down, the athlete will complete 6 burpees. On the third time the athlete will complete 7 burpees. This sequence will continue until the workout is over – each consecutive time the bar is set down the athlete owes one more burpee than the previous time.
