Getting Started

First, attend one of our Free Consultations/Workouts that we hold every Saturday at 10am, or email us at info@crossfitstpaul.com or call 571-243-2981 to schedule a free 1-on-1 appointment. This complementary hour appointment will allow us to assess your capabilities and athletic history to lay the foundation for meeting your fitness goals, and allow you to meet our trainers and gain an understanding of our programming before joining our team of athletes. During the Open House Workout or 1-on-1 session we will explain the CrossFit methodology, class and programming structure, and guide you through a short workout using bodyweight movements. After the workout we will discuss whether our programming philosophy is a good fit for you and discuss membership options.  Once you’ve decided to begin training with us you have 2 options:

Option 1: Begin with our Fundamentals Class

Our Fundamentals Class is geared towards generally active individuals who want to participate in our group training classes. This class meets 3 times a week for two weeks, followed by 2 weeks of unlimited group training, and teaches the most common exercises performed in CrossFit in a small group setting to allow for detailed attention to form and technique. In each class you’ll learn 2-4 new moves, practice the form and technique of those moves, and have a great workout that will gradually increase in intensity to prepare for our regular group classes!  These classes are scheduled multiple times per month at designated times to allow a group of 3-5 to complete the program.  Upcoming fundamentals class times are posted on our main page/blog.

Option 2: Begin with Private Fundamentals

If our scheduled Fundamentals Classes don’t fit into your schedule or you want extra attention to learn the dynamic lifts and progress at your own pace, personal training is the best option for learning the moves we use in CrossFit and entering our regular group classes.  Most people can learn the moves required for our group classes in 3 one hour sessions, which we will agree upon during your introductory appointment.

We also offer personal training for those who don’t wish to enter our group classes.  Individuals with sport/competition specific goals, or who just want individualized programming, one-on-one attention, and the accountability that comes with it are perfect for this option.  We have trainers with many years experience as personal trainers who can create programs tailored to your specific fitness goals.  Personal training rates are $65 per hour, or $40 per half-hour.  Small groups of 2-4 people will receive group rates if you want to train together.
